Well, it's been quite a surprise how much response I got for my indie comic 'Son of God'. It was my first fully completed script and I somehow forced myself to finish it. More importantly, I put in the time to market the comic and I have to say it was more time consuming then I could have imagined.
That being said, I am writing this blog post as a thank you to all of my supporters who went out and bought the comic, as well as the people who took the time to promote my book. I have talked to some really great people and was lucky enough to get some attention on my little indie book.
As for now, my next few projects are still a long ways away, so I will keep blogging and working on them until I have something more concrete to show. Thank you everyone for reading this and supporting new creators.
Hello again everyone!
I am making this blog post as a thank you to everyone who supported me on my release. I was honestly quite scared that it was going to end up very quiet and awkward but I was reminded once again how awesome all of my friends and family are.
I had a chance to talk to a lot of really great people who were willing to support a small indie writer and get his name out. I had a blast talking with all of you, and really appreciate you coming out. Also, I got to meet some other local creators who were thinking about doing their own projects. This was definitely one of my highlights. I love talking to other creators, and I have to say that it's great when I can pass on the encouragement that I've gotten from the people in my life. If you are a local Ottawa creator, please give me a shout if only to chat a bit.
Finally, I have to get to all the special thanks. This may be boring for most of you, but I these people have really shown their support on my release. First off, I'd like to thank The Comic Book Shoppe for hosting me. They set up the tables before I got there, and I really hit the ground running. For my family, I want to say thank you to Rachel and Kevin for being so supportive. My friends helped fill the store and really made the day a blast, so I'd like to thank Jenn, Grace, Ricky, Jenn, Meaghan, Martin, Steve, David, Issa, Matt Kwon Do, Damith, Michel, Muoy, Bos-man, James, Tom, and Stacey.
Thank you Nita for being amazing as always, and to Parker, my son, who inspired me to not just start, but to follow through.
Hello everyone!
Before I get started, I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive of my comic. Without the encouragement of my friends and family, I would have never gotten to finish this. Son of God was a passion project and has really pushed me to become more resilient. Thank you all.
So, the moment has come, and the book is officially out. The book has been a long time coming, and has been finished for quite a while. I finally finished up my website, got my blog going, and did as much promotions as a new father could to make Son of God have the launch it deserves. I have worked with great websites and news sources that have treated me very well, and I will be sending out another blog post later thanking them for all their support.
If you want to buy a digital copy, my comic will be on sale for the launch week, which you can purchase here.
If you would like a physical copy, the comic will be on shelves here in Ottawa at both Comic Book Shoppe locations as well as at Wizards Tower. Both of these comic shops have been very generous to me, and I've been shopping at both for a long time now. Please stop by and pick up a copy.
