Danger Girl
I have always been a fan of J Scott Campbell for his cover work in the comics industry. I had thought for a long time that his work was limited covers until I found out about Danger Girl (I was a new reader, clueless to his work in the 90s on titles like Gen 13). I picked up the book at a small trade show and figured if nothing else, the art would be spectacular. I soon found myself blowing through the gorgeous pages in one sitting. The comic lives in a perfect action movie setting. The exciting layouts and dynamic drawings give the comic a great flow that strings together a fun action-driven plot. I was pleasantly surprised with this one, and it's my go-to for figuring out action sequencing and pacing in comics.
