AvX Babies

As a comic reader that waits for the trades, a lot of mini-series and one-shots tend to fall under my radar.  A few years ago, I was collecting yet-another Marvel crossover event 'Avengers Vs. X-Men'.  It was in one of the companion books for the event that I ran into this adorable take on the Marvel heroes.

A one-shot comic that admits to have nothing to do with the big event, AvX Babies pins baby versions of the Avengers team against the X-men.  What results is unadulterated fun as the lovable babies go at it in a slapstick bonanza.

Written by Skottie Young and Illustrated by the Japanese Illustration studio Gurihuru, the characters personalities are wonderfully reduced to childish antics.  The love put into the silly comic is obvious, and I can't wait to show this comic to my kids as they grow up.  It should also be noted that this kick-started Skottie Young's long stint creating marvel baby variant covers that are absolutely amazing.
