Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Very recently, I've began taking the bus to work. After years of driving to work, I had to face up to almost two hours of commuting on all the weekdays. To combat the boredom, I picked up a new 3DS XL grabbed some long-term games.
The first of these was Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Because it's so recent, this could have easily been a end of year post, but I just finished the game and it is fresh in my mind. A spiritual successor to 'Zelda: A Link to the Past', I jumped right in.
The game held the old Zelda charm, with puzzles and secret entrances littering the map. As with many of the big Nintendo titles, the game was innocent and lighthearted, which I've really come to appreciate after being a PC gamer for so long. The sense of progress was constant, and the game felt rewarding because of it.
Because the game is marketed towards a younger market, the puzzles were never overly frustrating. If this was a console game, the lack of difficulty may have been an issue, but for a handheld, the level of play was fantastic. The dungeon crawling was broken up by mini games and StreetPass duels which I throroughly enjoyed.
With many more titles to go on my new 3DS, 'Zelda: A Link Between Worlds' was an amazing start to a long line of handheld RPG's for me to eat through..
