Kardinal Offishall – Ol Time Killin
Canada has a pretty poor reputation when it comes to rappers, especially when you are talking mainstream artists. If anyone digs deeper however, there are some very talented MC’s and a strong battle rap scene stemming from Toronto. One of the few artists to break out was Kardinal Offishall, a west-indies rapper hailing from the T dot. Before he was running into dangerous girls, he had some radio/video play with his release of ‘Bacardi’ and ‘Ol Time Killin’.
From what I’ve dug up, the song is relatively unknown outside of Canada, and only hit 32 on the charts here. Still, with a mellow bassline and Jamaican flow, Ol’ Time Killin is a forgotten song that deserves to be rediscovered.
